And that goes for his students too. With a listening ear, he eases study stress. With fun activities, he brings Upkotters together. And when that leads to couples, best friends and real family vibes? That’s when Jaron couldn’t be more proud.

Why choose Kaai Upkot for student accommodation?
With 49 rooms, Kaai Upkot is one of our smaller buildings. You’ll feel right at home there. The building is close to the campuses and student hotspots, but you can relax in the beautiful garden.
Kaai Upkot has cosy kitchens and chillrooms on every floor. The building also has a secure bike shed and a garden where you can relax with your flatmates on sunny days.
No, Kaai Upkot doesn’t have its own study room or study café. But you can easily study with other students in the communal kitchens.
The following campuses are within walking and/or cycling distance of Kaai Upkot:
- UGent - Campus Coupure: 0.75km
- Technology Campus KU Leuven/Odisee: 0.85km
- UGent - Campus Dunant: 1.5km
- KASK Conservatoire: 1.9km
Kaai Upkot is just a 12-minute bike ride from Gent Dampoort railway station. The historic centre of Ghent is also nearby and can be reached by taking tram 2.
The Upkot coach is responsible for the social activities organised in the building. Many public holidays are celebrated at Upkot, for example. Think of: a fun Christmas market, a visit from Sinterklaas, a welcome drink with all the students, etc. In addition, the coach also organises smaller, fun activities for the students throughout the year. Feel free to plan your own activities or organise something fun with your flatmates.
Kaai Upkot is a cosy project and is home to 49 students. It’s a smaller Upkot project, which means you’ll feel right at home and get to know other Upkotters quickly.
