Kortrijk might be smaller than other student cities, but that's exactly what makes it so enjoyable as a student. The city is modern and constantly evolving, with a strong focus on innovation, technology and design. You'll find students mainly around Kortrijk Weide, the KU Leuven Kulak, Howest and VIVES campuses, and along the lovely Leie riverbanks. Everything's close by.
Student life here is friendly and easy-going. Around the Vlasmarkt and in the city centre, you'll find plenty of cafés and student events. It might be less massive than in bigger cities, but that's exactly why you get to know people fast.
Kortrijk is easy to reach by train, with good connections to Ghent and other regional cities. Once you're in the city, almost everything is within walking or cycling distance as a student here.
For some downtime, head to concert venue De Kreun, take a stroll along the Leie, or get active at one of the many sports facilities. Kortrijk combines a relaxed pace with just enough buzz, all set against a beautiful historical backdrop.
