Jaron - Upkot coach
Meet Jaron

Your upkot coach

Jaron is always on the move. Running through Ghent or flying by on his road bike, preferably with a stop at a cosy brown café. Because after effort comes relaxation. And that goes for his students too. With a listening ear, he eases study stress. With fun activities, he brings Upkotters together. And when that leads to couples, best friends and real family vibes? That’s when Jaron couldn’t be more proud.

Always something going on

Upkot community

Living together means creating everyday memories that last a lifetime. Spilling spaghetti and feeding the Upkot chickens. Silent disco in the kitchen. Pre-drinks and post-party hangovers. Laughing till you cry. Netflix & chill. The Big Upkot Party and a quick football match.

Welcome to our community.

Why choose Field Upkot for student accommodation?

The building features two beautiful courtyard gardens. It is also ideally situated along the Coupure: close to the campuses in Ghent and within walking and/or cycling distance of the historic centre, including the Korenmarkt and the Graslei

Field Upkot has cosy kitchens and chillrooms on every floor. The building also has a secure bicycle storage area and a study café where you can cram with friends or organise group work. On top of that, Field Upkot also has two large, cosy gardens where you can have a great time with other students.

Yes, Field Upkot has its own study area or study café.

The following campuses are within walking and/or cycling distance of Field Upkot:

  • KU Leuven - Campus rabot: 0.4km
  • Odisee - Technology Campus: 0.6km

It’s just a 15-minute cycle from Field Upkot to both Ghent-Dampoort station and Ghent-Sint-Pieters station. Just around the corner from the building, there’s also a tram stop that takes you to the Korenmarkt in 15 minutes, for example on the T2 line. You can also easily reach the centre of Ghent on bus 10.

The Upkot coach is responsible for the social activities organised in the building. Many public holidays are celebrated at Upkot, for example. Think of: a fun Christmas market, a visit from Sinterklaas, a welcome drink with all the students, etc. In addition, the coach also organises smaller, fun activities for the students throughout the year. Feel free to plan your own activities or organise something fun with other students.

Field Upkot is home to 75 students.
